Two of Ghost on the Wire artist Sarah Choo’s works, ‘The Hidden Dimension II’ and ‘It was a Tuesday, just any Tuesday’ were screened recently at Cinema Total, a programme for film professionals hosted by the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin during the Berlinale. Since 2008 the cultural institute has invited film professionals from Central and Eastern Europe to gather in its premises during the Berlin Film Festival. Located in the heart of the city not far from the festival grounds, Cinema Total’s variety of events, including workshops, panel discussions, networking events and parties, encourage cooperation and reflect the many aspects of the film-making process: from development to production. Stimulating collaborations and co-productions in the region is one of Cinema Total’s main goals.
INVISIBLES – SELECTION FILM / VIDEO ART
Studio Gallery 09.02.2014 – 12.02.2014
INVISIBLES skirts the borders between film and video art, bringing together works by diverse filmmakers and artists, including Bence Fliegauf, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Tracey Moffat, Reynold Reynolds, Zuzanna Janin and Sarah Choo. This selection explores an atmosphere of unknowing, at times even unease, familiar from some cinematic experiences, but through video/film art. Several works employ techniques of narration and dramaturgy spectators are accustomed to in cinema, while other works create this mood with quite different techniques.
The Hidden Dimension II is currently still being showcased at the Best of CHB:
